OPPO F17 Pro Design

Oppo F17 Pro looks quite unique compared to other devices in the market. However, you can see the design clues taken from Oppo’s smartphones in the past. It has a quad-camera setup that sits on a plastic back panel with a dual-tone finish.

It has a matte finish which also gives it a premium feel. It also sports a punch hole on the top left corner of the display. On the front, the F17 Pro sports a 6.4-inch panel with a punch-hole display. It has thin bezels that offer a great feel apart from a notably thick chin, which is a design element that is very common in this price range.

The punch hole display is a great replacement for the notch, which I’m glad the company decided to go with. However, the dual front camera meant a bigger, more noticeable punch hole.

The F17 Pro sports a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with a wide cut-out at the top. Most of the smartphones today come with pretty decent displays and the F17 Pro is on par with them. It can produce nice and rich colors.

Watching movies and videos on screen is a pleasurable experience and the punch-hole doesn’t feel like a distraction. Even for gaming, the screen provides ample room for elements that you can easily grasp. The bottom chin is something, I guess, could have been a little less thick, but I’m nitpicking. This shouldn’t be an issue for you.

The F17 Pro has four rear and two front. There is a 48-megapixel primary camera on the back, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-megapixel mono camera for close-up shots, and a 2-megapixel mono sensor for portrait mode photography. On the front, you have a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.

The main camera of the F17 Pro that autofocuses on subjects quickly. They preserve the natural colors and have a good dynamic range. This means that even when your subject is positioned between your camera and the source of light, they will still have enough brightness to bring out details.

Wide-angle shots are also fine but there is a slight problem with the details. The cameras can zoom up to 10X, of which 2X is optical. The F17 Pro camera is acceptable but there is nothing special about them. Subject boundaries in focus often become blurry and photos look too smooth on them.

There is no density in those photos but they are enough for you to post on Instagram and Facebook. Portrait shots of both the front and rear cameras look the same. But the front cameras will really attract you because of their beautificationf.

The OPPO F17 Pro is powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, which was announced earlier this year. It succeeds the Helio P90 and offers a slight improvement in AI performance. The chipset on the F17 Pro is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of benchmarks, the Helio P95 scores above 2,00,000 on AnTuTu and around 1500 in the multi-core score on Geekbench 5. These scores are nowhere to be achieved with the OnePlus Nord Snapdragon 765G chipset or what the Realme 6 manages. With MediaTek Helio G90T.
