Nubia Z40S Pro launching on July 20, key specs confirmed

The Nubia brand will be launching a new flagship on July 20 and we got a lot of information via the official Weibo page.

The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at 2PM local time (6AM UTC) and will feature the Nubia Z40S Pro.

The device will replace the Nubia Z40 Pro, which was launched in February with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

The design of the Z40S Pro has changed a bit as well, this time with a flat display and a redesigned rear camera module.

The device will recycle the Z40 Pro camera setup that includes a 35mm equivalent lens and 64MP Sony IMX 787 primary sensor with OIS

A 50MP ultrawide module that doubles as a macro cam and also has OIS

and an 8MP 125mm equivalent periscope module with 5x optical zoom.

The new bit on the Z40S Pro is the sliding shortcut key that will automatically switch to "Street Photography Mode."

It remains to be seen whether the key can be recreated.  The battery of the new phone has been confirmed to be 5,000 mAh.
