How does Rudy Gobert fit with the Timberwolves?

Gobert will now be linked with Carl-Anthony Towns in Minnesota. The two have long-term contracts after Towns agreed to an extension to Supermax on Thursday. Gobert has four seasons left on his Supermax deal.

Big-man pairing could be productive for upstart Timberwolves. Gobert, a three-time All-Star, averaged 12.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game for the rest of his career.

One of the more interesting side plots in the reported trade is third-year shooting guard Anthony Edwards' apparent lack of respect for the role of Gobert.

In December 2021, Gobert said "I have no fear in my heart" after Edwards played one of three matchups against the Jazz that month. The Jazz won all three.
